Blocky shadows after build lighting

This has been a constant issue that I can’t figure out. The picture posted shows it best. Every time I build lighting it turns to this. I took several tutorials online and restarted the project but it always turns out this way.

Details-

  1. The scene is a small room with a window.
  2. I’ve tried with several types of lights and lighting combos including no exterior and just interior lights and vice versa.
  3. The room has a shell outside to prevent lights entering other than from the window.
  4. The lightmap density is pretty even throughout.
  5. It doesn’t make a difference whether it’s lighting quality preview or production.

What is this and how can I fix this?

I had this all over the landscape in my game. I spent a long time trying to figure it out, to no avail.

All I can tell you, is that it goes away on packaging, which isn’t much help…
