BLOCKER / CRITICAL - Unable to load any UEFN Project on PS5

I am trying to matchmake into a UEFN project on a PS5 that has permission to launch UEFN projects, and I am getting errors on the preparing screen or stuck on “0% Updating”. Zero way to load a UEFN project on PS5, but works fine on Switch and PC

Edit: I was able to load into a code on PS5 that didn’t have any custom assets, a very basic level with only creative devices

Up on this, I have the same issue on my PS5, no way to join an UEFN session, while joining from a PC with the same account worked like a charm.

Although the error I get is “Matchmaking error. This game mode is unavailable at this time.”

Did you ever find a resolution to this? My PS5 is doing the same now but even now ive published the island it wont load into it. I just get a matchmaking error every time. It loads other peoples uefn stuff fine though.

Ps4 and pc load the island fine so no idea what is going on or how to fix

I think that you can’t do anything about it, it’s on Epic’s UEFN dev team to make it work. Would be nice to have confirmation from staff though.

This is now resolved for me, i hope yours are fixed too

How you fix it?

Hey guys, just want to confirm from my side that launching UEFN on “Connect to Platform” and having my account open on a PS5 does successfully launch my UEFN map for me, so its not a general issue. I suppose you guys have disk available and all right?

Back on this, to provide more details: I have two accounts for the sake of testing team-based gameplay. The main account launches the session from my desktop PC, then the second account joins the main account from Fortnite’s home screen (both accounts are friends).

  • on my laptop PC, no issue, second account joins successfully
  • on PS4/PS5 the second account is unable to join and I get the same error over and over (“there was a matchmaking error” or something like that)

Are both accounts part of the same team?

Does it only happen with certain maps? Or new maps as well?

I had a similar issue because the second account didn’t have access to the converted map despite it being moved to the team space.

Yes, both accounts are in the same creator team. Didn’t try with other maps though, only the very same one.
