Blender to UE5 material issue

Hi all,

first of all i’m aware that a lot of people before me already asked this question and I’ve read through a lot of solutions already as well as watched numerous videos on howto apply materials in Blender and export them to UE4/5.

After a week of trying all kinds of different approaches i can’t seem to get the materials to show up properly in UE5.

Let me explain what i want to achieve. I’m modeling a building and want to apply a brick material to some of the faces. In the modeling process I’ve now split up the whole model into smaller objects so that i can apply the brick material to the selected faces. Then exported them including materials using different settings to UE5 with FBX.

Importing one of the smaller objects with two faces brick material and the rest of the faces standard white material results in an static mesh that is nearly all white. I can see in the object properties that the materials are both there and applied. Highlighting them also shows the materials are applied to the correct faces. Just not showing up correctly

If i’d place a standard UE5 cube in the scene and apply the brick material to it, it does work.

The end goal here is to model everything in Blender and apply materials to them. Import objects and materials to UE5 and maybe in a later stage fine tune or replace the materials with some other (brick) material for all the faces that use that specific material.

But first i guess i need to actually get the current brick material to show up correctly.

Ahhh… had to read just a bit more. The UV mappings were wrong. Now that I’ve corrected those it imports fine into UE5
