Hello, are there any tutorials that show how to create such bitmap masks?
This was not created in photoshop but is the result of using LB_Heightblend blending method in your Landscape Material to blend two textures together based on height map information.
I am talking about how to make the left blend mask in particular. Like how was it generated in the first place?
You don’t need it, you need the Heightmaps for both textures.
LB_HeightBlend effectively creates a mask just like that one, using the Heightmap to blend.
I think he’s asking how to create the mask from the source.
To answer that, it all depends on the texture. For those rocks, I might use a selective color mask in PS or take only the light/dark values. There is no automated solution unless you are using models as source. You’ll have to get in there with an image editing program and make them.
I dunno about there being NOTHING automatic. Quixel NDo can pretty much spit out any kind of map you want with very little tweaking, unless your looking for something super specific, then it might take alot of tweaking.
