Black screen when dieing between pregame and gameplay phases

Hi all,

Getting an issue when if I die just as the countdown from the pregame nears 0 that would normally take me to the gameplay phase.

If I kill myself (damage volume set to eliminate) while UE tries to respawn me at the same time the gameplay phase begins I get a black screen. I can seemingly play normaly by moving and jumping over obastacles i know are there and I can see my position update in the mini map as per normal. But it looks just like the pic attached.

My pregame area is a high floating island and has gaps in the floor that the player can fall thru (just like the original main pregame island) so I do need some way of returning the player to the island if they jump off while waiting for players to join the before the game starts.

Theres a bug with fade tracks that keep the last keyframe. Make sure your last keyframe of the pregame cinematics fade track isnt black.

I have had a bit of a look around and cant seem to find where I can edit this cinematic. Elimination Manager or other things that I can think of don’t seem to allow me to edit the last frame. Is there a work around for this bug that works with the default assets? I am not using any custom death anims or anything.

You probably stumbled on a weird bug, and I think its because you are eliminating the player as gameplay starts. Disable that functionality and see if it fixes it for you.

Then try a different spawn pad at the center of the island, then disable the ones you have temporarily, and go from there. Break the issue down into small chunks until you find the problem. Hope this helps
