I’ve tested the metahuman plugin on Ue5.6 and have the issues when I export for content folder for unreal engine. The character has black materials, looks like how some texture not been exported
The black textures you’re seeing indicate something went wrong in the texture baking process. Is this happening consistently for you? After assembling, can you check the logs for any errors related to Texture Graph to see if anything stands out?

Why is my Metahuman completely black in UE 5.6?
- At the time of writing, there is a bug in the Metahuman editor in UE 5.6. If you have a language different from English in the editor during assembly, the character may turn black, and the bug may also be related to the enabled Metahuman runtime plugin. To fix the error with black textures, you need to turn off the Metahuman plugin. runtime, and switch the editor to English, then rebuild the character (the old one must be deleted.)

Edit: Got it to work by temporarily disabling ‘substrate materials beta’ check box in project settings, then restarting. Then assembling the MH, saw it exported with textures now. Then reenabling substrate materials and restarting again., And it is still good.
Hmm, I never enabled MetaHuman Runtime, and it is still off and my editor has always been set to English(if we mean the setting in Editor Preferences/General/Region&Language ) I download 2k resolution textures(though they don’t seem to appear anywhere in the content browser as far as I can tell). But I get the download bar and green checkbox in lower right corner. And then I assembly the MH, but the result is they are completely black, no texture, except the hair. Not sure what else to try. I did make a MH just fine in a different 5.6 project last week.
