This is my first forum post so apologies if its not the best but i ran into this issue when trying to render out a CS:GO 3D sequence via the movie render queue and was wondering if anyone recognized this issue? Down below is a link to the video rendered out unlisted on youtube and you can see the problem happening from 2 seconds onward.
I can provide render settings and such if needed, thanks for the help in advance!
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the black spots issue in your video render:
Reduce depth of field: Reducing the depth of field intensity might resolve the black spots issue.
Anti-Aliasing: Try increasing the anti-aliasing in the project’s settings, as this may help to reduce the jagged edges and black spots.
Remove transparent materials: If you are using transparent materials on the arm of your character, removing them might help to resolve the black spots issue.
Reflection Capture: If you are using reflections, try disabling the reflection captures that may be affecting your character’s arm.
Optimize your scene: Optimizing your scene by reducing the number of lights, materials, and meshes might also resolve the issue.
This is for anyone who comes across this thread in the future. I found that the issue was within the materials. For me, I was using a subsurface profile. I changed that to default lit and that seemed to resolve the issue. Not an ideal fix as subsurface profiles are nice but it could lead you down the right path.
so I guess if we’re using unreal water materials that we’re out of luck then? turning off subsurface colour still has the issue present when thin meshes overlap water
