Bizarre white edge artifacts during cinematic rendering using path tracing

Hi all, I’ve encountered a strange problem while rendering out sequences where certain geometry, like edges and complex surfaces, start generating white pixels. It’s unrelated to movie render settings and appears regardless of render setting quality. This only started with the update to UE5.5, and I haven’t been able to find anyone else with a similar problem yet. If anyone knows what kind of artifact this is or what direction to look, any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Here’s a better example of the artifacts.

Hi! I just wanted to ask you if you found a solution. I’m having a similar problem and I’ve looked everywhere to no avail. I was told it could be a bug around the darkest pixels of the image or something like that but nothing I do works. Do you have any clues of what could it be?

We found a bug on mac that can cause with. Its been fixed and coming out in 5.5.2. Another alternative might be to set r.Tonemapper.Sharpen 0

There have also been reports of Nanite Vis leaking into renders. That has also been fixed but you can shut that off with r.Nanite.Visualize.EdgeDetect 0
