big problem with path tracer

Hello to everyone !

The last days I face a huge problem with path tracing in 2023.1

It is showing everything with lines like the photo I attach .

Please Help !!!

I think this is the persistent problem related to the cad model not being very close to x,y,z = 0,0,0. I've not had time to re-export my models to resolve this, but the solution provided by @Jake Weber​ is working for me (add depth-of-field to the camera).

Raising the near clipping to 1.00 worked for me in a way .

It shortened the stripes but not erased them ( you can see at the attached )

The depth of field did nothing !!

I tried to put the project to 0,0,0 to archicad ( the program I work ) but this made it much much worst !!!

It's a mystery then.

I submitted a bug report a couple of weeks ago, and had the following response;

Thank you for sharing the files as requested. I have tested this and was able to reproduce the issue as you described in the 2023.1 final release from this week. I have escalated this issue to our engineers so they can investigate and find a solution. If they discover any workarounds that may help, I will let you know. Otherwise, they will try to get this resolved in a future release with the next hotfix being the target.

So, Epic are aware of the problem - hopefully a fix on its way soon.

thank you for contacting us and reporting this issue. Please know we have submitted a report to our development team to review that we will currently be tracking as TM-11711.

We are seeing that this can be an effect of the way that the geometry is modeled an imported. As we've tested, the issue appears to be a limitation due to the way the geometry has been scaled, or from the model being far away from the origin point, causing precision issues in the rendering.

Can you please try ensuring that the model is close to, or centered on the origin point(0,0,0) in Archicad? If you are needing to scale the model, it may be helpful to do so in Archicad before importing as well.

As an alternative, we're seeing that other workarounds to minimize or resolve the issue will be to adjust the Camera > Near clipping slider, or enable Depth of field and adjust the DOF settings.
