Beginner: Problem with particle light module (light is flickering)

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty new to the unreal engine and I really enjoy working with it

Currently I am playing around with particle systems. I recently made a simple spark effect with the help of a tutorial.
The particle system has a light module which was always working fine. I worked on my level and played around with the post process volume and from one point on the PS started to have a weird flickering issue.

I recorded a quick video to show the problem:

Here are some steps I already tried out:

  1. Google and forum search
  2. Building the lighting with production quality
  3. Set large boundries for the PS.
  4. Restart the editor / PC.

The editor is set to epic quality.
I noticed, that the strange flickering goes away when I spawn less particles or set the spawn fraction in the light module lower. I was thinking that it could be a problem with the memory, but I only have around 100 active particles in that system and I guess, that shouldn’t be an issue. Also it was clearly working before.

As you can see in the video, the problem is somewhat dependent on the camera angle. Also the blue particle system seems to show the same problem from time to time.

I’m very thankfull for any help I can get!

Have a nice day!
Moritz
