Beam particle twists in the middle

Hi!

Tried finding other topics/questions on this but I guess I’m not good at searching, at least not enough…
Anyways, I have the following problem:

As you can see the beam bends in the middle. Tried restarting the editor and playing around with settings like lock axis and even taper but so far no solution. Does anyone know how to change the vector that should face the camera at each point? Or at least at source and at target? Since it pretty obviously rotates the beam between source and target which I don’t want that seems like the logical step - as in telling it not to. But so far I’m stumped… no idea what I’m looking over.

Anyone with ideas? Thanks for the help in advance!

Edit: I’ve found the up-vector settings but that only asks what it should be based upon and even that works very weirdly.
