Beam color not changing in-game

I’ve tried setting colors to be set to vector particle parameters in initial color and tried the same with color over life, and gave the name “BeamColor” for both. I set all the mins to 1 and all the maxes to 1000. In my BP I have a set color parameter set up to the beam particle component and typed in “BeamColor” for the Parameter name. None of this works. The color does not change to the deep red I set it to, it remains the min of 1,1,1.

How is this supposed to work?
