Summary

Barrier (Hollow box) has some problems.

  • Border is smaller than specified size about 3% on one side, 6% on both sides.
  • This makes that floor of border appears player’s head height instead of floor height, when barrier height is 100.
  • When touch border, player is stucking to border and moving speed will be slowdown.
  • This stucking makes that player can pass through the border.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Put the barrier and set is “Hollow box”.
  2. Set it size to max (WDH=100x100x100).
  3. Check the border position. Floor exists player’s head height and North, East, West and South border exists about 3% inside for spcified size.
  4. Start the game.
  5. Check the border. Player stucks and slow down by the border. And stucked player can pass through the border.

Expected Result

  • The specified barrier size and barrier border position must match.
  • Players should not get sticking and not slow down on the barrier border.
  • Player shoucld be not able to pass through barrier border.

Observed Result

  • Barrier border position appears little bit inside of the specified barrier size.
  • Players stucks the barrier border and slow down.
  • Stucked player can pass through barrier border.

Platform(s)

I checked below environments:

  • Fortnite Creative on Xbox series X and PC
  • UEFN on PC

As a workaround, for each wall you can add a wall-sized barrier device which is not hollow .

But unfortunately there seems to be not a simple workaround. :frowning:
Normal barriers also seem to have size errors at the endpoints.

You should use brush size rather than scale.

When your Shrink to Allow Building is unchecked it should make the barrier at its red border

Maybe UEFN has a scale setting, but Creative doesn’t seem to have it.

Hmm, the edge of the mutator zone seems to be right, but the barrier’s is not.

Ahhh, sorry, I found the scale setting on Creative.
I could use the scale setting from x1/3 to x5 in the paste mode UI.
And I confirmed that the edge position of the barrier is moved by the shrink switch.
