Barrier device not rendering correctly

Summary

The barrier device in creative 1.0 has very poor render distance, even if you have affected by fade distance off. Moving just a few meters away disables the device, unless you get really close.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Place a barrier device
  2. Set any style that is not invisible
  3. Set the width, lenght, and height to max.
  4. Set the option affected by fade distance to off
  5. Back away from the device

Expected Result

The barrier device should be enabled, and showing the style, even when inside of it.

Observed Result

The barrier dissapears just within a few meters, no matter if you are inside it or not inside it.

This was meant to be fixed in 40.30, yet the bug still persists. It has been happening for a very long time and it ruins the experience for other players.

Looking at the problem using UEFN this does not exist. BUT if you use your descriptions and do the same INSIDE FN Creative it does EXIST.

In past maybe people used UEFN .

What would be nice for the Test Engineer to check is to create this in FN Creative then migrate the island into UEFN . If the problem now shows in UEFN, then they can fix the problem.

Either way voted up this problem, just needs more votes, its being going on far too long and several attempts fix it have failed!. QA has failed.

That fix is coming in 40.40, please ping me if it doesn’t work. It only mentions UEFN in the ticket.

The status of FORT-1098588 changed to ‘Needs Triage’. We’ve confirmed the issue and it’s waiting to be assigned to someone to fix it.

@Flak The bug still persists in the new update. It still disappears in creative mode, even with the fade distance off.
