I have a map I’ve been working on in Fortnite creative starting before UEFN. It uses ballers and speed boost traps to create a track. I have 32 baller spawners with each one over a speed boost trap.
Here’s the problems.
A few ballers are on the map in front of their respective baller spawners when I spawn in the map from the creative hub as though they went right through the wall in front of the speed boost trap that changes the baller direction to left or right and ignored said trap.
Sometimes a spewed boost trap gets ignored by a baller which manifests itself in two ways.
Some ballers are still on their spawner when I spawn into the map.
Some ballers may keep being pushed into a wall by a speed boost trap moving them forward as though the speed boost trap moving them left or right is not there.
I can move near the baller and it recognizes the speed boost trap it is on and then moves as it should.
Sometimes a baller will move forward then move immediately back in the same way things move to a previous point when lag happens (it’s a point immediately before where the baller currently is when it happens) and when doing so will make the sound it makes when hitting an object with the only way to make the baller stop that and act normally is to get in it and it then returns to normal.
I play on PC.
I can do a short live stream showing the issues and post the link to the video here.
The first issue is easy to catch on video.
The second issue is harder to catch on video.
The third issue is even harder to catch on video.
I had the opportunity to restore my map while in it and saw that the baller spawners and speed boost traps spawn before the walls do and given that random ballers sometimes ignore a random speed boost trap, that allows ballers to be where they shouldn’t be as the walls haven’t spawned yet and the ballers are already moving on the speed boost traps.
The cure is to make it to where nothing on the map is active until the whole map has spawned or better yet make it to where nothing in the map is active until a player enters the map.
@ikonix360_YT Thank you for your report! We would like to look into this further, would you be able to submit a bug report using the form available here? Fortnite Creative
Depending how items are placed sometimes determines when they spawn when the map is loading.
Take the baller spawner and speed boost trap issue for instance. I redid the ones shown in the video today and now the ballers don’t move until most of the speed boost traps are spawned in that area and all the ballers acknowledge the speed boost traps the spawners are on top of.
Do you want me to do a general report about everything I’ve noticed or an individual report on each item?
Also what would the ballers and speed boost traps be classified under on the bug report form?
Also in January when I had an older PC with barely adequate graphics, the baller outer shell would move as it should, but when I got a new PC with excellent graphics, the baller outer shell no longer moves when the baller moves, but will occasionally move at random when it hits a speed boost trap or a launcher.
Also I don’t quite understand why some ballers seem to act different when there’s a bunch grouped together going over a speed boost trap.
Also is there a way in regular creative to control either the baller spawning or is there some item that can be used so that the ballers are not all moving from their spawns at the same time and lumped together?
I have a similar problem with zombies not activating speed traps when spawning on them. I fixed some of the issues by replacing the initial speed traps with bouncer traps, maybe it helps with ballers too.
It jut now let me post the video from the YouTube video details page in YouTube Studio, but I could not post the link straight from the YouTube page for the video.
Now as to the issues I’m having could some of them be caused by the amount of cell memory I’m using or the fact that I use so many speed boost traps?
Good news. With the recent update it looks like most of the issues have been solved.
The map pretty much loads nearly instantly as soon as I go to creative plus when I enter the map, the ballers are on the spawners still as they should be.
I also so far have not experienced much if any lag which I was experiencing due I think to the high cell memory usage on parts of the map.
Also so far in checking my map I haven’t noticed any speed boost traps ignored at least not by the baller I’m riding in.
