Bad ribbon particle in low fps

hi.

i have created a ribbon particle for my character’s sword.
it looks good in high frame rates, but in 60fps and lower i have bad results.

how can i fix it?

What are your ribbon module data set at and how many particles are you spawning in the Spawn Module If you could post a screenshot of those module settings that would help me narrow down the cause? Chances are there is some optimization settings that need to be adjusted. Particles are always subject to the rendering time so some lose of particles are expected at low framerates, 60fps is a little high to be losing particle motion frames though.

Hi -

OKay so with the Spawn Per Unit module you are going to be a little more dependent on the current frame rate as it defines the space of units. Try using just the Spawn module to spawn the effect and use your lifetime and Color Over Life to control the fade over time. You should get some better performance and less jitter from your ribbon.
