August #UE4JAM, August 13-16th, THEME: THROWN IN AT THE DEEP END

Alright, i’m gonna give this a shot. The last time I tried a game jam my idea ended up being too complex to make in a short amount of time. However, this time around I think i’ve come up with a nice, simple idea. I’ve just finished writing a little design document with the details lined out, as well as basic plans of what the blueprints might look like.

Only thing is…i’ve never used Unreal 4 before. I do however have some basic experience with Unity along with the Playmaker plugin, and i’m hoping that Unreal’s blueprints are similar enough to Playmaker’s FSMs that I shouldn’t have too much of a problem getting it coded. I’m also considering simple flat-shaded meshes similar to the likes of VideoGameBread ( http://videogamebread.tumblr.com/ ).
