Over the past several months we’ve been having a lot of ICVFX projects that are centered around playback with sequencer, and specifically with sometimes complex sequences that involve spawnable tracks that we attach to, and with the expectation that we need to make on-the-day stage side adjustments inside a multi user session to these sequences.
We’ve encountered various operational issues where basically, things are not transacting correctly, or won’t transact unless we close down the sequence, save the asset/level, and then reopen the sequence - or in the worse case, requiring a persist and restart of the nDisplay cluster.
These operational issues fundamentally meant on some shoots, we could not make any sequencer changes at all unless we either “went down and up” or had a chance to re-save and reload the content, or ultimately resorting to doing all work on a machine outside the session beforehand and pulled them in on a next relaunch.
This problem does seem to be specifically related to attaching to spawnable actors, because the behavior is not seen with regular possessable bindings.
*This happens multiple times a day.
Workaround is to close the sequence, save the asset/level, and then reopen the sequence - or in the worse case, requiring a persist and restart of the nDisplay cluster.
