, you are a great motivator! I was truly inspired by your ability to build such quality shots in UE4. Not sure if you had a to see what I got going on my end, but here it is:

I thought I’d let you know you are a huge inspiration! Keep up the good work man! I plan on doing something today and will be posting on my thread.

I’ve been following thread for a while but I’m unfamiliar with the marketplace. Can’t the files just be uploaded elsewhere for download? Or is so he can charge for them on the marketplace?

Is it hard to achieve a skill like that?

Well i’m sure he could, but that is really the whole point of the Marketplace. Plus the Marketplace makes it dead easy to download and add to a project. Also stuff on the Marketplace can be free or pay.

Hey friend!

I spent the last 2-3 weeks grinding in unreal figuring out the tools and software, but they provide a robust amount of content for education. Just got to dig in

I see the file listed on the Trello board for the market place - I guess it needs approval first before it goes live for download, right?

Yes, and to my knowledge, the marketplace hasn’t even opened yet for user generated content, but is intended to be opened soon - and Epic wants to keep the quality standard high, which shouldn’t be a problem for 's content

Thats why should vote for it! My understanding is they are using votes as a preliminary filter system until the Marketplace has more infrastructure in place.

Yes, at least it helps them determine which content to make availiable first, so voting indeed will help to get our hands onto Koolas Example Scene as soon as possible

Here’s the link to the trello board again - you have to be logged in to vote afaik: ----> Trello

Hi , did you use the models from the speedtree free pack for your works? Do you need the speedtree modeler subscription to use the seasonal variations of those or the higher poly count versions?

I just post a image of the evening tests before going to sleep, I answer the messages tomorrow :).

Question:

You use the same BaseLightmass.ini settings in all scenes?

I’m working on a demo scene and was using blender cycles to bake lightmaps but they are coming out so noisy and much longer render times than you mentioned
With some tweaks, Lightmass procude really good result … and it’s certainly way more easy than baking out lightmap in blender :).

*Would be great if you could share the scene via other means since the market place could take some weeks 'till oppening. *
I prefere to use the marketplace (the “official way”^^) … it’s coming, be patient

, you are a great motivator!
Haha thanks ! I’m really happy to see my work inspired people

*Hi , did you use the models from the speedtree free pack for your works? Do you need the speedtree modeler subscription to use the seasonal variations of those or the higher poly count versions? *
Yep. You need to download new trees on the store if you want the seasonal variations.

You use the same BaseLightmass.ini settings in all scenes?
No, I’m always testing new parameters, always try to find a good compromise between render time and quality.

What have you changed in your settings since your original post? Would be great to know what your experiments have turned up in helping to demystify the .ini settings.

I for one , would your scene for game design. I like what you did with ligthmass

Hi and thanks again everybody

Some answers :

*How are you doing the color grading? Are you using a lut? If so, what did you use to generate it? Or is the color work done in post after recording the video? *
Yep, I’m using a lut (done in photoshop) … and globally all the (tint/tint shadow/contrast/ …).
The videos are captured directly with the movie capture tool in editor.

Thanks for the info! Great to know that works. I hadn’t tried it yet. Nice.

I’d love to have some info about the dynamic setup . You blend in cubemaps? Did you use the WIP realtime GI for it?

WIP

Based on The Light Walls House by mA-style Architects.

Great as expected! Will the scene include more material types or is minimalism the point of the architectural style?
