Apply texture in Maya or Unreal ?

Hey guys.

I’m creating the interior of a bar for a game, I made the blocking in Maya and have it exported as FBX.
Not sure if I should apply the textures in Maya itself or in Unreal… does it make any difference performance wise ?
I would like to use Quixel Megascans textures and they are free to use in Unreal, but paid for Maya.

What is recommended ?


You need to do your UV mapping in Maya before you export
