Hey everyone! We are new to GearVR, and I went through all of the docs about how to get started with it. It’s about 10000x simpler than trying to get it going in Unity, so for that Epic deserves a lot of kudos! After going through all of the docs, building a successful app, installing it on the Note 4, then being told by the phone to insert it into the headset, the app is nowhere to be found. I’ve made sure that I have the Oculus Signature File in the right place, but still no app. I just get to the Oculus Home, and my app is nowhere to be found. Any idea how I can access it? It’s just a simple FPS project. Thanks for the help!
Hello, we had some simillar issue, and after rebuilding code in visual studio is showing up now! Try to look for UE4 Icon. But now we have another problem, affter start ther is a massage that obb file for google play store is not avilable. Anybody know anything about it? (4.8.1 and android 5.0.1)
From my understanding you can not deploy a Gear build to Google play or oculus at the moment. Obb issues is something I have not experienced or heard of so far in terms of gear development.
I recommend checking that you are not exporting with distribution checked off. If that does not help you can also try to export with the entire project packaged within the APK just like we did in the VR Jam.
Hi I was wondering did you get a fix for your issue with the app not showing, but going straight to Oculus Home, its difficult to find definitive answers, so any help would be greatly appreciated .Thanks Ellie
