any way to blur/falloff mask?

I need to give make a hard edged mask into a very soft edged mask.
any way to do this in the materioal editor?

If you are using a texture as the mask, the easiest way would be to tell the material editor to use a lower mip version of the texture, it’s cheaper on performance and can look good enough. I forge exactly how it was setup, it was mentioned in the Foliage & Parallax Occlusion Mapping Techniques used in Paragon stream on youtube.

I think your texture needs to be a Param2D, and you plug a scalar parameter into the Bias, and use values like 2-8.

Anyone know how to lower mip of the final output mask of a material?
