Any Idea why my meshes get more and more distortet? How can i fix this issue? Please Help!

I don’t know why this is happening. When it starts, more and more meshes start to warp like this. A restart helps for a short time and then it starts again. It doesn’t just stay with one mesh, but more and more.
Re-importing the mesh helps for a while, but after a while it starts again.
If I change my camera or the perspective, it flickers and sometimes distorts indefinitely. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anything about this on Google for weeks… It can’t be that I’m the only one with this problem… I’m grateful for any help. I work with the Unreal Engine 5.4 on Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1

Thanks!

Hi , i totally want to see why this is happening,
in viewport there is a button top left to change the viewmode of camera.
Look at the model in wireframe, in nanite overview , default lit , and post screenshot or video.
this is amazing XD

Thanks for your reply!! It makes me really crazy! I didnt find any solution on the web and nobody that talk about the same problem… Here are more pictures and two video files. The point is also, that it react like a “virus”… i mean, so it expands to other Meshes more and more. The only thing works for a moment is to start the engine again. But after some Minutes it starts again. It really destroy my brain :-/ I hope so much to solved it… Months of works will loose if not…

Video Examples:

the wireframe look stable right?
have you weird stuff in your post process material?
are you working in a super giant size? or super far away from the 0,0,0, of the world ?

the last thing i could do is blame , drivers , memory , GraphicBoard.

Try creating a new level with one of the object that goes crazy.
in the level it works? ensure normal size and normal position.
try also choosing a material of the editor like grid material.

let me know

Sorry, i needed some time to check all the things. So first, the wireframe dosent is stable. You will see it also in the following pictures. Also without post process they go crazy.
I have the same Problem in big sizes Levels and also in small sizes Level like the GASP Default Level.
And its not far away from 0,0,0 of the world.
I Also updatet my Mac OS to the newest Version (Sequoia) and Updatet Unreal to 5.5 and the Problem comes again…
What do you mean with normal size and normal Position? The Sizes of the Meshes are Original.
Also when i choose a grid Material it changes nothing (Picture)…

Its really crazy… :frowning:

First: Do you have any custom plugins or tools installed? If so, it is likely a memory corrupting bug in that plugin.

If not, it’s likely a problem with one of your cpu, your graphics card, or your memory. Either the drivers for those, or the BIOS, or the actual hardware. It’s almost impossible to tell which one it is, but if you replace one of them and the problem goes away, that would answer that question! After you update all drivers and the BIOS, start with the graphics card, then work your way through RAM, CPU, and motherboard.

okay…sounds like a bigger Problem then that what i hopped… Thanks a lot for all your answers and Support! So, the Problem is ugly and frustrate, but if i understand you correctly then it coukd be a Problem, which is Pain to work with, but dosent will destroy on that what i work, right?
So if the Mechanis and the biggest Part of the Game dosent will be destroyed from that, then im happy enough. Meshes i can change in the future when i have a other Laptop. By the way, do you know if its easy or not a good idea to change on the working Progress from Unreal on Mac Os to Unreal n Windows? Should i stay by Mac OS when i begin the Project with it or can i transfer it easy without some risks? Thanks alot for all!

you can save your project as 5.3 and open it with 5.4 5.5 5.6 XD
usually is everything okay but if you are using a plugin that is not updated you cant use that.
Creazy example, i m using water plugin in 5.5… in unreal 5.6 this plugin still have to be made.
your project in 5.6 cant load the water.

Beside this you should be fine moving also from PC to MAc and viceversa, i never did but a friend do it all the time, and usually fix everything
