Antifacts and pixels on textures randomly appearing

Hi there, I saw some others encountered the same issue as me. I would like to share some screenshots here and hope our great Epic team can fix this problem soon.

The problem is that, everything’s going well when I am editing a project file, then suddenly some textures have this kind of artifacts or pixels. If I reopen the project file, then they will disappear. But the problem is very annoying, and it seems it always happens when VRAM usage is high. (I have 3090 and there should be still several GB so I don’t think it is totally VRAM issue, also, the viewport is smooth)

Thanks in advance!

It is VRAM, I’m pretty certain. My feeling is there’s a buffer overrun going on.

You can set your texture scalability to medium/high to decrease how often it happens until there’s a fix.

Thank you, hero! hope we can have a fix soon. My projects are large therefore I have no other way to save VRAM usage.

Thank you mate! I will give it a try definitely. Have a nice day!

Using less textures or smaller textures

It will also happen if you’ve been auditioning textures / objects for a long time, because the streaming buffer doesn’t seem to get flushed in editor, it just keeps piling up.
