Maya has an annotation tool where you can type text and have a line that points from the text to a location and you can change the placement of both ends and adjust the text size. What is also helpful about this tool is that the text rotates to always face the camera similar to sprites and you can toggle the visibility easily with a hotkey. We do a lot of techvis type scenes where this would be helpful to navigate and inform other users in a large set where they can find things and what certain areas are for. A visual note taker. Current we are using UE’s Text Render Actors which is nice but I’m missing the features of being able to hide quickly (like “g”) and it doesn’t rotate to face the camera.
