Has anyone experienced this? I’m trying to do a hitscan using AnimNotifyState + Sphere Trace but its not working.
I’ve tried referencing the axe mesh from third person BP and even making it its own Axe BP. The trace keeps spawning on the floor ,
I followed a bunch of different videos that essentially boils down to the same trace setup and notifies, am i doing something wrong?

I manage to fix it thanks to the UE5 discord help.
To who ever stumbles upon this post with the same problem.
You need to add Function > Spawn Actor BP Class on the weapon to spawn it into the level. then call the function on event begin play.
Then you Mesh Comp> Get Owner > Cast to BP Character > Get weapon > weapon mesh > Get socket location / world context
