I have a question regarding UE5’s Lumen.
Let’s say, in a certain scene, a high-spec PC can output 60fps without any frame cap.
If I were to limit the FPS to 30 in this scene, there would be some extra computation time available for the GPU.
Is it possible to allocate this extra time to Lumen’s calculations to the fullest extent?
In other words, can limiting the FPS result in improved Lumen quality or increased lighting accuracy?
And if so, what settings would need to be adjusted to achieve this?
I’d appreciate any insights or experiences you could share. Thank you in advance!
[EDITED]
Especially, I am looking for a way that the engine utilizes an excess time to update light propagation and the volumetric fog scattering.
Since Lumen is calculating light propagation using multiple frames, I hope theres a way for the engine to do this.
After tweeking “Lumen Scene Lighting Update Speed” and “Final Gather Lighting Update Speed” in PPV, PC still can give way above 30fps.
