All @editable class variables have been blanked in UEFN

Summary

Everybody should probably double check their maps. All my @editable class arrays have been wiped clean. For my maps this is pretty catastrophic since I relied on this stuff working.

Thankfully I have spreadsheets so I can recover most of it, but it’s still going to take about a full week of tedious data entry. For anyone without backups, though, this is probably a total disaster. I’m not usually an alarmist and I don’t want to sound dramatic, but I can totally understand the urge to rage quit after this.

In my case, I’ve got to redo 10 quests, 55 side quests, 48 NPC enemies, 135 lootable items, 135 sales items, and 77 craftable items. It doesn’t initially sound like a lot but it really is a lot as many fields have many devices that need to linked to. A bunch of those have subcategories that need to be filled out too.

For the sake for everyone’s sanity, i hope i’m just the only one who had this happen to…

Expected Result

All my class arrays should have all the past values from 18.00

Observed Result

All of my class arrays have been replaced with bank data. no entry is actually holding any values.

For anyone who had the same issue, I’ve got some good news. I recovered a snapshot from yesterday and the data is still intact in that one.

If you have revision control enabled and have been using it regularly, you might be saved too. Still a really scary thing to experience, and a good reminder not to rely too much on UEFN fields for your next code project.
