Alembic hair texturing issue

Hello,

Hope it was not already answered but I cannot find anywhere how to user rootUV properly.

What I need to achieve is to have same texture on groom as is on the skin underneath it. When I plug the same texture (checker texture in this case) to groom with rootUV (second screen) - it kind of does what I want it to do but the UVs are different.

I am guessing the rootUV probably works differently than what I am trying to do, but I cannot find any good resources for this.

Would be glad if anyone would know how to achieve this.
