Aiming with specific weapons is broken in FPV

Summary

I have an island on Creative (1.0) that heavily uses the First Person Camera. Specific weapons i want to implement have very akward animations or egregious aiming positions.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Equip the Oni Shotgun, Surgefire SMG, Lawless Trinity Assault Rifle, or Outlaw Shotgun. Various non-Ch6 weapons like the Evochrome weapons and Scoped Revolver also work.
  2. Place a First Person Camera.
  3. Test the First Person Camera in Creative Preview.
  4. Aim, fire, reload, sprint, and walk while carrying the weapons above in the equipped slot.

Expected Result

Every weapon appears naturally, with it facing forwards, going offscreen when required, and having optics or iron sights centred or functional.

Observed Result

For the Surgefire, Outlaw, Trinity, and Oni, the neutral pose is in the top right. For the Outlaw, aiming jolts the camera downwards and into the weapon. For the Surgefire, aiming jolts the camera backwards and into the weapon. For the Scoped Revolver, the neutral pose of the weapon is not facing straight, and covers the crosshair.

Platform(s)

PlayStation 5 (possibly replicable on any platform)

Additional Notes

Multiple weapons use the old SMG first person animations. The Pump Shotgun uses the SMG firing animation of going backwards when it should use the Shotgun firing anim of layering the neutral pose with the base animation. The Assault Rifle should use the Assault animation of a premade backwards recoil animation.
Below are mockups of how fixed animations for the CH6 weapons could be, using the Orbit Camera.

Thanks for the detailed report here, we’ll have someone take a look.

I also remember when i did a glitch/exploit to make the arms in FPV invisible, and if that became an actual option, it could possibly mask some of the new nuances like legacy weapons having the arm position be changed by where you are looking.
