After changing reality capture version to 1.4 I’ve converted my project and it worked fine on Friday. But when I tried to open it today it shows me error 7126.
I have already tried previous suggestions, like editing the .rcproj with notepad, but I only have 1 component to work with. Also I have uninstalled all reality capture versions and did a clean install from epic games.

this seems like the project was corrupted during saving. Where is your project saved?
How have you converted the project? Do you have still the original project?
It is possible that you will need to start from the scratch.
Hi, I do not have the original project saved unfortunately. I have opened my old project and clicked ‘save and unlock’. Afterwards I could work on it fine without closing the reality capture software. But when I tried to open the project today I got the error.
After Save and unlock and some processes, have you saved the project again?
Yes I have, I remember it took longer then usual to save, but it successfully saved.
Saving and unlocking could take longer time, but the next save should be in ordinary time.
but yes I still cannot open it, so I have to re-do all the work which is quite sad. Thanks for the help though.
I have same problem on the every project i made; program corrupted every single file, i don’t know to resolve this.

are you running RealityCapture from Epic Games Launcher?
Where are you saving your project? Do you have more drives on your PC? Are you starting the project from the scratch in 1.4?
Hi @OndrejTrhan , yes, i use Reality from Epic Games launcher; i save file on the external ssd; yes i have more drives, and yes, i start every new project from the 1.4; the problem is this current version, corrupetd every time my file; This is really stressful.
Can you try to install RealityCapture directly from C:\Program Files\Epic Games\RealityCapture using the installation file?
Then apply the application reset: Reset RealityCapture
and try to compute your project again.
Also, using external disks is not ideal, as there could be some short connection errors, which could end with errors like this. Can you try to save your new projects on C drive if it will be happening again?

i had the same problem and this solution worked for me. Go on the installation folder of reality capture and while pressing shift click on the .exe rc file, click on reset all program files and on make clean install. now it saves and re opens files without issues
