UEFN updated itself. I opened the project I was working on once, but it will now crash when opening the same project no matter what.
Steps to Reproduce
My project was running ok at 25.0. After 26.0 released, I opened the project once, it was working, I looked around, noticed the Accolade devices were added and dropped them in to see what they were. I saved my project with these in (though did not commit the change to revision control) and closed the project. Now, when I try to open the project I will get a Fortnite has crash error every time. Things I’ve tried to fix it:
Removing my local project and re-syncing it from the latest snapshot before I’d opened it in 26.0 or added any Accolade devices
Force releasing any locked files I have on my own username
Reverting to multiple snapshots further back in time
Ensuring no Verse errors (even deleting all verse files completely)
None of the above has worked this project now crashes on opening no matter what.
Expected Result
UEFN does not make it impossible to open a project
Unfortunately that’s not the issue, I don’t have any block statements and I haven’t introduced any new Verse code since having the project working and opening in the editor.
So… another update. After painstakingly switching snapshots and opening the editor to see if it crashes or not I narrowed found a snapshot which introduces the issue. The problem is that’s about 5 days of work ago and I can’t see any way I’ll be able to migrate the content out of my level
The biggest mystery and slap in the face is I had the project on latest snapshot open in 26.0 once where I could have migrated the level out. Now it can be opened no more.
Hey, I understand there will be limited time and very busy Fortnite devs at the moment but it would great to know if I will eventually be able to get support with this or not.
