ADK v222.5 is out!

Update is now available on the Epic launcher :slight_smile:

You see Sinari, THAT response is professional, and would have sated everyone upset about the lengthy amount of time that this took and the way we were lied to for days. Instead, the ark devs decided to censor us on the steam forums, and we received no responses here from anyone who mattered. No communication is as bad as negative communication, any day.

No updates, or old files

The developers at Wildcard don’t deal with banning people from the forums or moderating it. That’s what us moderators are for, and the community managers such as Nubsly, Jat, etc. They are so busy working on the game pretty much ALL the time, that they just practically don’t have the time to deal with that, and they shouldn’t have to as the developers. They have bigger fish to fry, and understandably so.

I’ll have to agree though with others that leaving a bad review for the game itself is not a very mature way to handle things & handling things in a manner such as this only leads to you being the bad guy in the situation, and as psychology has shown over and over, handling things while angry = illogical choices, and illogical choices means bad decisions. I understand why you are frustrated & have had my own frustrations with the ADK, but honestly, Wildcard is far more vocal than 90% of the Game Studios out there (many times us moderators are handling posts for them because of them being so busy). Do they have room for improvement? Absolutely, everyone does and always will have room for improvement no matter how talented/knowledgeable they are. But again, handling things the way you did, was absolutely not appropriate, and we all know this.

Treat others the way you want to be treated & respect others the way you would like to be respected. You would be surprised how much you will get heard when you aren’t busy yelling at people and acting out of line :stuck_out_tongue:

Good. Glad we get this update before the modding contest is due.

I was starting out too, then decided to use dino AI for now, so much potentially with no end in sight I choose to limit myself until I get the base down, I’m learning as I go!

I was hoping with this new function it was related to reading weapmap coordinates
“actor position -->map cords”, but I think its for the more for creating UI?

Why no update?

Please be careful, using the in-house emitters will crash your mod/server/client in strange ways in this version of the Dev Kit.

Fire crashes on activation.
Sparks crashes on people walking to it while activated.

Creating your own versions (all parts of it) fixes this.

Any idea when a new update will be rolling out? I’d love to make some “costumes” for the dinos.

I doubt any time soon, 222 is yet to update to clients, so there will be a delay after that as a bare minimum.

So. Yeah. Updates promised within 5 days of release on client by … 221… NO UPDATE. Lets see about 222.

Can the full version of the Dodo Rex be added. At this moment only the animations and skeletal mesh and not the blueprint.

Will this be added in the next update? I would like to add it to my mod.

They never promised updates within 5 days, said something along the lines of they should be at least around 5 days because of balancing/stabilising their major updates and because of all of the hotfixes they need to push out between them.

Also, if I recall correctly there wasn’t even a week between 21 and 22, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to release 21 when 22 has already landed.

That and Wildcard have said they should have an update to the DevKit tomorrow, being 222.1.

Honestly, dude, just get over it already… they’re doing the best they can, if that’s not good enough for you then perhaps you should re-evaluate/■■■■■ your commitment to modding this game because you’re clearly not pleased nor are you ever going to be at this rate. Nothing will really change until the game moves from alpha to optimisation and bug-fixing because they’ll have added all the content they want the release version to have, and that’s currently the issue that delays their updates, they add content with every version update, and fix/tweak in the hotfixes.

I would expect everything will be available in the 22.1 update in the next day or two. It’ll most likely be the same with what happened with the direwolf and such, some meshes, animations and other files were available, but core BP’s, AI’s and the like weren’t available until the next big update. I would expect the Giganoto to be in this aswell, but I don’t believe the 223 dino’s will be.

Okay, then I will wait for the next update. The baby dino files aren’t also yet in the editor, right?

There aren’t separate baby files AFAIK. There are values in the Dino Character BP which you can alter.
