Adding Jump Mechanic for Virtual Reality


I am looking to incorporate a jump mechanic for my virtual reality game. What is the best way to start laying out and building out a mechanic that A) has a variable velocity depending the player running velocity (I have an arm swinging mechanic that moves player forward based off velocity of hand swinging. That is already built and working) B) has the ability to very the jump distance based on duration of trigger press? Thanks! Would appreciate any guidance or suggestions.
