Add assets functionality

I will start with a brief overview.

Basically the project I am working on was using quixel bridge plug in is a big part of its functionality, it was major selling point in moving it UE.
knowing it was going to navigate to FAB I did all the necessaries ( claimed all free etc).

Bridge kept working however so it didn’t matter so much because I had downloaded a lot of the assets locally…until today.

I couldn’t click on anything in the bridge plugin so reinstalled the plug in but now all my assets connected locally are disconnected from bridge. So I would have to rebuild anything from scratch.

Figuring this would happen eventually I decided I would try from FAB but not only did the “claim all assets” thing not work so I would have to pay for a bunch of stuff I already own for it to be usable as a drag drop library but there is no function to migrate assets. ( I knew that when it launched but surprised there is not fix or update for and its not in the road map) .

We are currently having to build our own plug in that will scan local directories but it feels like a massive rug pull…anyway not just complaining.

I guess I am I just asking for this to built on FABs end for the future seeing as it seems the .uassest build is the same and the directory location.

Hi @ToddWinger, sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues transitioning to the Fab plugin. If you clicked on “Claim All” on Quixel Bridge, you will soon also get access to those Megascans on Fab (see details here as there may be some differences). We’re currently working on making that happen, but if you’d like to get access even sooner please reach out to Support team here for help.

Unfortunately, you would still need to download assets from Fab because it won’t recognize the assets you’ve already downloaded through Bridge.

Would love to hear more about the plugin you’re building to scan local directories and about your experience using the Fab plugin!
