I found a little bit about this in the Answer Hub, but not a solution. Basically, what I think is happening, is that my material is using Actor Position WS, but when I attach it to a parent actor, it is then making the Actor Position WS the parent object instead of the object the material is on. As you can see in this video, I raise it up and down and it disappears because it’s still being makes by the player position rather than the cup position. As long as I keep them both on the same Z it’s fine, but the moment I put an offset to it to raise it up or down it’s not accurate and looks weird.
Anyone know of a fix for this? The AnswerHub post says this became in issue in 4.14 and has persisted. But surely there’s a way around this or a different way to do what I’m trying to do. Any help would be appreciated.
