5.8 Run Construction Script in Seqeuncer hiding control rigs

Hi

We noticed that controls don’t display in viewport if the container blueprint has “Run Construction Script in Sequencer” enabled. We’ve also noticed spawned control tracks temporarily disappearing from sequencer, but i haven’t been able to reproduce it in this repro project - though I suspect it is the same bug.

Thanks

Luke

Steps to Reproduce
Open /Game/BPSeqCons/LS_MissingCtrls in the provided project or follow the steps below:

  1. Add Manny SKM to an Actor BP
  2. In BP class settings turn on “Run Construction Script in Sequencer”
  3. Add BP_Manny to sequencer
  4. Enter Animation Mode
  5. Observe the CR tracks exist but nothing is in the viewport
  6. Disable “Run Construction Script in Sequencer”
  7. Observe the controls now render in the viewport

Hey there,

Thanks for raising this. I’ve logged an issue here: https://issues.unrealengine.com/issue/UE-396910. It may take a bit to show up.

There isn’t a workaround for this; we don’t handle rebinding of the control rig during deconstructing and then reconstructing the skeletal mesh for the construction script path.

If this is something that you want to look at locally, the theory right now is that you would need to add a callback and hook for rebinding the control rig to the newly reconstructed control rig in ControlRigParameterTrackEditor.cpp
