Summary
In Unreal Engine 5.8, interacting with 3D Widgets using the WidgetInteractionComponent works perfectly in the Editor, but fails to register any input when packaged and tested on an iOS device. This issue did not exist in UE 5.7. Get 2D Hit Location consistently returns (0,0) on mobile.
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Platform Mobile
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an Actor with a Widget Component (3D UI) and place it in the level.
- Set up a WidgetInteractionComponent on the Player Controller/Character to handle Touch inputs (triggering Press Pointer Key).
- Package the project for iOS and launch it on a physical device.
- Tap on the screen to interact with the 3D widget.
Expected Result
The 3D widget successfully registers the touch interaction and fires UI events, exactly as it does in the Editor and in previous Unreal Engine 5.7 iOS builds.
Observed Result
The interaction is completely ignored on the iOS device. If debugged, Get 2D Hit Location consistently returns (0,0) during the interaction attempt on mobile.
