[5.7] MetaHuman skinned FBX import runs out of memory (works fine in 5.5)

Summary

Importing the same MetaHuman skinned FBX file works fine in UE 5.5.4, but causes an out-of-memory crash in UE 5.7.4. The issue occurs regardless of whether I use the legacy FBX Import UI or the new FBX Import UI — both consume significantly more memory during the import process in 5.7.4.

Steps to Reproduce

Create or obtain a MetaHuman character and export it as a skinned FBX (with skin weights, skeleton, and blend shapes).
Open a project in UE 5.5.4 → Import the FBX via drag-and-drop or FBX Import dialog → Import succeeds normally.
Open the same (or a fresh) project in UE 5.7.4 → Import the same FBX file.
Observe memory usage spike during import → Editor crashes with an out-of-memory error.

Expected Result

The FBX import should complete successfully in UE 5.7.4, similar to how it does in 5.5.4.

UE Version: 5.7.4
OS: Windows 11 x64]
RAM: 64 GB]

Platform(s)

The exact same FBX file imports without any issues in UE 5.5.4.
Memory consumption during import in 5.7.4 is noticeably higher than in 5.5.4 even before the crash occurs.
