5.1 OpenXR - controller inputs without headset worn for development

Is there a way of having controller inputs work without having the headset on? It is a big pain as a dev to have to use VR mode all the time and only have inputs work while wearing the headset - on 4.27 I could use an FPS pawn with motion controllers to test but this no longer works as the headset has to be on?

the only way I was able to solve it partially is (note I am having the old HTC Vive Pro)
and UE 5.2
I unplug the HDMI cable between HTC Link and the Graphic card - AFTER i have started the VR PReview the first time…
afterwards I don’t need to use the Headset,

However, I still dont get my Controller Tracking in the selected Viewport working… it only works in the VR - Preview mode
(even with the checkmark for : "Viewport Gets HMDControl“ !!)

so I don’t know if that is a problem of the Vive Pro or UE

I believe it’s to do with the software. SteamVR notices when your headset isn’t on your face or forehead. Gonna try to trick it right now…

I would like a work around for this though. I’m trying to make a game that is part VR, part Flat Screen using VR controllers

Theres a new setting on SteamVR that allows you to play with the headset off. [In the regular settings] I’m not sure if that would allow you to do testing entirely without a headset or not.
