I am creating a basic master material and whenever I try to add a constant vector (3) and convert it to a parameter I get the “Shader Compiler has stopped working” error and Unreal quits. I have tried deleting the Saved and Intermediate Sub-Folders and in the Project folder but I continue to run into this problem.
Hi CSandeman -
Can you post your MachineID, it is the number behind the Window above in the Crash reporter? Also make sure that you send the Crash from above to us so we can easily track down the issue for you. Finally, if you can upload the log file from your project that crashed that would also help us track down this issue.
Thank You

Hi CSandeman -
I was able to track this down using some of the call stack listed in the image above. The Good news that this issue has been reported as UE-4304 and is begin worked on as we speak. The bad news is we do not have a fix for you just yet. If you would be willing, can you move the material and any associated textures to a new blank project with no starter content and see if you still get the crash. If you do, please upload this project here for us to test on.
Thank You Again for your report.

I moved the material over to a new blank project with no starter content and UE still crashed. How do I upload the project correctly?
Hi CSandeman -
All you need to do is zip up the Project Directory and if it is less than 5 MB you can attach it as a file here in AnswerHub, if not you can post a link here to a dropbox or google drive location. (If it saves space for you, you can eliminate the Saved and Intermediate directories from the zip file.)
Thank You for you assistance -

Any solutions to this problem yet? I am still unable to package my project.
Hi -
This crash should be fixed in 4.8, though I would wait for the 4.8 release before fully migrating a project over.
Thank You
