4.25.4 Hotfix released

I believe you’ll have to get that particular branch from Github and build from source.

I do not use the “material layer system”, because I suspected that it will have problems in the future. But, generally speaking, I have no issue with this update, but this is because I avoided using certain experimental features, I say that, because these features are supposed to be under-complete.

thank you!

Has anyone noticed this phenomenon- a mesh’s material texture suddenly will go low res when in editor?

I find in-editor material on an object will suddenly drop in display-quality and go blurry, but then suddenly restore itself to ‘full-res’ if you wiggle the Perspective camera around, or if I double click on a mesh’s material so that it is open in the material editor pane. Almost like you need to ‘awaken’ or ‘refresh’ the material on screen to get it showing in full-res. Specifically, it is the display of a texture in the material on-screen that this happens to.

Maybe it has something to do with Sampler Source - ie “From Texture Asset” vs “Shared Wrap”…?

Wondering if this is the Engine conserving resources, seems the only way to stop it from happening is to keep all the affected materials open in the material editor pane, but this is workflow-visually annoying.

Seems like you do not have enough VRAM to handle your scene. You can google for texture streaming pool for more information.

Nodes in the shader editors don’t preview anymore.

Their thumbnails are blank.
All my shaders…!

Updated from 4.25.3 to 4.25.4
Am I the only one with that issue?
