4.23 drag and drop static mesh from content browser lock axis issue?

Hello,
My team and I started using 4.23 about six month ago.
I was wondering if I am the only one having this issue that I can’t seam to find the reason for.
Whenever I drag an object from the content browser, whether its a static mesh or bp or anything really that you could normally be add to the scene/viewport and place it(on something with a collision) anywhere. My mesh gets locked on the z axis and on 1500 x locked as well. I am working from the base sidescroller platform. Is that the reason for its behaviour? It really slows down the level designing has its really a drag to always be looking to (where did it spawn this time…) when working on the backgrounds for our game.

I hope its just a new setting installed somewhere.
Any help would be appreciated:)

Ok well for anyone having this issue I found out what it is and how to fix it.

Frankly the fact that the ue4 staff didn’t know how to go about that one is not too cool I find. OH well for those of you who have the same problem it’s super easy to fix. In the view-port window there is a setting called enable snapping to a 2d layer.

I must’ve clicked it by mistake at the beginning and didn’t realize this option even existed. It really makes the background level design a drag and was a real pain to work with it being enable. Now that I know it’s not a bug and a feature well at least I can toggle it on/off !. Well now you all know 2 and also ue4 staff hopefully knows about it now ;)!

I’ve linked an image to make sure everyone can see what setting I was talking about. Cheers!
