WOW. Nearly every single aspect of experimenting in VR is mystifying.
I cannot even determine whether I need to use the Virtual Reality New Project Blueprint or a Blank one.
If I choose Virtual Reality, though I’m developing for desktop, I’m supposed to select Mobile/Tablet and not Desktop/Console? Why?
The VirtualReality Blueprint opens with a StartupMap with some 33 actors on it, even if I specify No Content.
What am I supposed to do next? Delete all 33 actors? Then what?
If I try the VR Preview, I can clearly SEE the scene in VR, but cannot move around in it, etc. etc.
The online docs don’t appear to match the 4.17 UI.
For instance, taking a WILD guess at what I might need to do next, I landed here https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Platforms/VR/MotionController/index.html#motioncontrollersetup
for setting up motion controllers.
I’m instructed to locate and open on Player Pawn Blueprint (apparently called VR_Pawn). No such Blueprint exists.
If I search the Modes panel, searching for “vr”, I find things like:
VREditor Avatar Actor
VAEditor Base Actor
VREditor
etc.
If I search for “pawn”, I get only:
Default Pawn
Empty Pawn
If I look at the Content Browser, I see folders:
Geometry
VirtualReality
VirtualRealityBP
None of these contains the “Player Pawn” Blueprint, and therefore, I can do nothing with the motion controllers tutorial.
Incredibly frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.
