4.12 Particle Flicker Bug

After upgrading to 4.12 (4.12.2 included,) we found many particles to be flickering at random. Does anyone face similar problem?

We’re looking for a more specific thing that make it bug, but couldn’t make anything out so far…

Okay, i found the bug. Apparently you have to go and set fixed bound for most of your particle emitter, GPU based or not.

Edit Nope this only solved some of the particles. Anyone has any other clue on this.

Not only does some particle flicker, many sharers seems to do the same when you’re moving your camera around.

Anyone else has this issue?

I am having same issue. All particles flicker at random after moving to 4.12

I had it too. Setting fixed bounds seems to have solved it for me.

I know this is an old thread but I recently came across this while trying to use particles with mesh data as sand and/or snow than can be compacted. The particles behind the nearest ones were flickering like crazy, this finally helped:

Particle emitter -> Mesh Data -> Orientation -> Axis Lock option : Z *worked for me.
