3d text doesn't have a reflection?

Hi all!
For my game I want to have text visible and readable in mirrors.
Problem is that if I bring text in as a jpg, it is too distorted and illegible in the reflection.
Decals don’t appear in reflections and even If it’s not a decal but a png with transparent background, it doesn’t show at all.

Finally I thought maybe I’ll just use the 3d-text plugin, since it’s supposed to be like a normal mash and so it should appear in reflections, and it will allow me to easily make the letters big enough so the text is legible even if it is a bit distorted.

Unfortunately I discovered that 3d text doesn’t seem to have a reflection at all. Which is very surprising to me. Why is that?

so I have 2 questions really:
1 - is there a way to make 3d text appear in reflections?
2 - how would you go about making text appear (and be legible) in mirrors?

Ok, I think I figured out what’s going on. It has something to do with the lighting. Something about the way the engine interprets light on the text make it only visible from very specific angles.

I guess I’ll just have to do a bit of trial and error to make it work for me.
