3D GUI for Vive - Workflow?

Hey guys,
I want to create a 3D- VR- UI which is based on head Rotation as an Input (my Goal platform is HTC Vive).
How Crytek Builds 3-Dimensional UI for VR - YouTube at 19:02 you can see a visual example of what I’m aiming for.
What are your recommendations on going about this? Use slate or UMG UI designer? Or to create a blueprint class by myself?
