39.50 [Solved]Fortnite Creative ignores Windows screen size 1280 x 720

Summary

Fortnite Creative only works on 1920 x 1080 in 39.40 works well with 1280 x 720.
When PC Fortnite returns to lobby expects 1920 x 1080

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Creative 39.50 and screen is only partly viewable when using 1280 x 720
  2. Use Alt-Tab keys to go back to Windows home screen and set 1920 x 1080
  3. Battle Royal no longer runs in 1280 x 1080
  4. In 39,40 the Windows screen size was adjusted to Windows settings

Expected Result

Respect current Windows screen settings like Epic Games Launcher now does.

Observed Result

Big Blotchy ā€œF O R T N Iā€ massive screen just change to 1280 x 720 Windows screen size

Additional Notes

You cannot Launch unless you have 1920 x 1080

Client Crash on "End Game" (v39.50)

Update 23/feburary/2026

Set Windows 11 Display Resolution will be 1920 x 1080

In PC Windows 11 Fortnite

Top Right Click ā†’ Settings ā†’ Resolution will be 1920 x 1080

Click the left arrow down to 1280 x 720 (16:10)

Apply

Return to lobby shrink the FN screen to about same to 1280 x 720 (16:10)

Click top right red x to close Fortnite

set the Windows 11 display to 1280 x 720 (16:10)

Restart Fortnite

The lobby display is the right size

Of course you can change display to any setting in UEFN

When you check the resolution in Fortnite Setting this will be set to Fortnite display
