Exponential height fog rendering issue in 4.11

I’m getting weird flickering issue whenever I add exponential height fog to the scene. I’ve read about issues with having atmospheric AND height fog, but my issue is not related to this.

What is happening:

  • Whole screen is flickering with black color every 10-20ms
  • Flickering remains in Lit and Unlit mode, every other mode is safe
  • Manual creation of fog in Blendable using SceneDepth channel is working okay, so not related to this.

How to reproduce:

Create a basic scene, delete atmospheric fog, delete atmospheric fog and then add exponential height fog.

My PC:

  • Intel Core i7-4770K

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

  • OS version: Windows 10 Build 10586

  • Driver Version: 361.43

Hi zeOrb,

Hello, was this issue ever resolved? I’m encountering the same issue with version the current version 4.17… it seems that distance, height, density settings don’t affect the issue. I am using sequencer to output a landscape video, when the camera pans through a larger vista we get flickering that is really intense in the darker areas at a distance ( black and white, lunar type looking video ). Any custom settings to consider ? Thanks.
