32 bit PhysX on Nvidia 5000 series GPU

Hello,

We have had reports of performance issues when running our game on Nvidia 5000 series GPUs. The issue stems from 32bit CUDA libraries being used to compile PhysX. With the Nvidia 5000 series, these libraries are no longer compatible with the hardware and now default to CPU-based physics rather than GPU.

Has this issue been encountered before and do Epic have any suggestions on steps to take to mitigate legacy UE4 games from bad performance on newer hardware?

Hi James,

I’m afraid we won’t be able to help much on this due to the age of the engine, and we no longer ship with Physx. It may be an idea to reach out to Nvidia themselves since they own both the products and may have far more visibility here.

Best
